He’s a proud graduate of the public school system and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Syracuse University. After graduating from college, Jermaine worked as a community organizer for LIUNA! (Laborers International Union of North America), working to protect the wages and jobs of working families. A few years later, Jermaine was elected to become the first President of color of the Metropolitan Baltimore Council AFL-CIO Unions. Jermaine is now running for Baltimore's 12th District City Council seat because he wants to be an even more effective public servant to our communities at a time when we need it the most.

As someone who has grown up and lives in the district, I understand the unique challenges that face our community. I am determined to tackle the issues head-on, such as improving public safety, strengthening our public education system, and addressing economic development in a way that benefits everyone.
